Canon’s imagePRESS C850 series has already proved popular with the market and the manufacturer now expects interest to grow with the recent upgrades

Upgrades to the series include the addition of an automated duplex feeder for banner sheets, as well as improved workflow solutions.

Canon says the new automated duplex feeder “unlocks the commercial potential of this feature”, allowing users to take advantage of this media format and also differentiate their product offering. The POD Deck Lite XL-A1 long sheet feeder enables automated duplex feeding of 1,000 banner sheets, up to 762mm.

Wayne Barlow, head of Graphics and Communications Business Group at Canon UK, says: “Quality, productivity and applications versatility are our bywords for the continuous development of our digital production solutions.

With these latest enhancements to media feeding and workflow, we are ensuring that imagePRESS C850 series customers can take full advantage of the many opportunities to diversify their offering with new products, while further improving colour consistency, productivity and operational efficiency”

“With these latest enhancements to media feeding and workflow, we are ensuring that imagePRESS C850 series customers can take full advantage of the many opportunities to diversify their offering with new products, while further improving colour consistency, productivity and operational efficiency.”

Users seeking high colour consistency for quality graphic arts applications will benefit from the new PRISMASync v6.0 controller. Canon says this increases the speed of colour calibration by a factor of three by using one halftone rather than three, while fully automating colour validation tests.

In addition, Canon partner EFI has launched the embedded Fiery Digital Front End (DFE) EFI G200 and introduced additional software updates with the new external DFE EFI H300. Both of these support the new long sheet feeder and, according to Canon, will “enhance print production efficiencies and offer a more versatile solution”.
